*Competing in Wealth While Neglecting Ākhirah*

Competing in wealth while neglecting the Ākhirah is a dangerous deception, where people exhaust their lives chasing increase in possessions while their hearts grow bankrupt of remembrance, gratitude, and preparation for what lies ahead. The race for money, status, and display consumes time meant for salah, weakens concern for halal and haram, and slowly convinces the soul that success is measured by what is owned rather than what is sent forward. Islam does not condemn wealth, but it warns against rivalry that hardens the heart, fuels envy, and blinds one to the reality of death. When competition replaces contentment, the dunya becomes the goal instead of a means, and the Ākhirah is postponed with false hope of repentance ‘later.’ The believer remembers that graves do not distinguish between the rich and the poor, and that on the Day of Judgment, wealth will not be admired but questioned—how it was earned and how it was spent. True competition is in obedience, generosity, and good deeds that outlive the body. Whoever prioritizes the Ākhirah finds balance in the dunya, but whoever makes the dunya the ultimate prize will find, in the end, that they traded what is eternal for what was never meant to last.*_Al Ghareeb (The Stranger)*May Allah Guide us in this life of distractions. ...
